Identity Number Finder

The South African 13-digit identity number is often required when ordering official documents, such as birth, marriage, death or estate file documents from both Government and private institutions in South Africa. It is also needed when dealing with these institutions, whether the person is still alive or deceased. Unfortunately, not all South Africans were ever issued with a 13-digit identity number. Visitors can make use of this tool to confirm if an ancestor were issued with a 13-digit identity number. Registered members will have access to obtain the identity number for deceased ancestors only.
